A Mommy Makeover is a set of customized aesthetic procedures that reverse the effects of pregnancy and childbirth. Having a child is a life-changing experience. Unfortunately, it’s also a body-changing experience. The female body is capable of amazing things, but unfortunately, it’s not always able to bounce back after becoming a mother. Mommy Makeovers can help with a sagging belly, and breasts that have changed shape from breastfeeding. You might also opt for some body contouring to get back your kicking curves- or get the curves that you’ve always wanted.
Pregnancy is a rollercoaster (of love) and now that you’ve had your child, you can take back control of your body. Dr. Brian Arslanian can help.

Statistics show that women today are having children later in life, and that multiple births are becoming more common.(1) This is bad news for mommy bodies! It’s no wonder that more and more women are opting for mommy makeovers to counter the blatant effects of pregnancy and more subtle signs of aging that may be creeping in. Most mommy makeovers include breast enhancement and liposuction. But it’s not just new mothers- these are the two most popular cosmetic surgeries, respectively. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports that nearly 300,000 breast augmentations were performed in 2019 alone, and over 250,000 liposuction procedures were conducted.(2) Pregnancy is the #1 reason women opt for an abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck. Luckily, studies have shown that multiple enhancement procedures can be safely and effectively combined to address all the areas that having a child changes.(1)
Popular Mommy Makeover Procedures
You may have enjoyed larger breasts during your pregnancy as your body prepared for a nursing baby. However, as you also may have discovered, the breastfeeding process is not kind to the breasts. Many women notice dramatic changes in their breasts, and drooping or deflation as they stop lactating. A mastopexy, or breast lift, reverses this sagging by removing excess skin and contouring the shape and placement of the breasts.(3) This also raises the position of the nipples and areolas for perky, youthful breasts. A breast lift will not interfere in a woman’s ability to breastfeed in the future.
If your breasts are feeling particularly drained, you’re not alone. Many women lose volume and definition as a result of breastfeeding. Why not treat yourself to a Breast augmentation? Dr. Arslanian offers a variety of procedures and uses state-of-art techniques for safe and beautiful results. A breast augmentation can be performed at the same time as a breast lift for the ultimate new set of breasts!
Or, maybe you’re having the opposite problem with your breasts after baby. For some women, breast enlargement can continue even beyond the baby’s due date. If you feel like things are getting out of hand, you may want to consider a breast reduction. Dr. Arslanian can sculpt you a smaller set of breasts that are tailored just to you.
You probably spent your last trimester looking like a Georgia peach, and maybe things just haven’t gotten back to normal after the baby arrived. Pregnancy is the #1 reason that women opt for a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty. (1) We know that pregnancy expands and reshapes a woman’s midsection (no kidding!), but it also can affect the abdominal muscles. This is known as diastasis recti, when the center abdominal muscles separate. This causes a bulge to protrude which can make you still look pregnant after delivery. Dr. Arslanian can tighten the stomach muscles as part of his comprehensive tummy tuck procedure. This popular surgery also removes excess skin and unwanted fat deposits.
If your baby weight settled in all the wrong places, and isn’t going anywhere, it might be time for some body contouring! While you’re in surgery for any of the above procedures, Dr. Arslanian can help define your curves and give you a new contour by removing that stubborn fat.
Give yourself the ultimate push present! With a mommy makeover from Dr. Arslanian, you can bring back your best features. You may choose to contour an hourglass figure, perk and re-proportion your breasts, or repair damaged abdominal muscles. Whichever procedures you pick, looking and feeling beautiful is going to help you be the best mother you can be. Anyone who wants to look like a hot mama is a candidate for a Mommy Makeover. Postpartum mothers are definitely candidates, but so are women who have never had children. Any woman who has developed loss of volume to the breasts, sagging, lower nipple position, weakening of the abdominal muscles, or extra skin and fat in the lower abdomen can benefit from this procedure. Ideal candidates are in good health and are neither smokers nor pregnant. Generally, candidates have given birth and do not plan on having any more children in the future. Future pregnancies can undo the effects of your makeover, which is why we recommend that women wait until they are done having children.
During your consultation, you’ll meet with Dr. Arslanian and his staff. You’ll have the chance to discuss your individual situation, and describe your concerns and aesthetic goals. Dr. Arslanian will perform a complete examination and take detailed measurements. He’ll also snap some photos to help point out certain things and explain his unique approach to Mommy Makeovers. He’ll discuss the best options for you, and make sure you are 100% happy with whatever you decide.
You’ll also get to see photos of other patients’ “before and afters” and Dr. Arslanian will happily answer all your questions. Next, you’ll meet with the surgical coordinator to discuss timing, pricing, and any other questions that you might have. Contact Dr. Arslanian’s office to schedule your consultation. You can also schedule a remote consultation if you’re not in the area, or have your hands full with your little one!
Before your surgery, you’ll be given instructions that include how to prepare, and all the details of your procedures. You’ll be given any prescription medication required for your recovery, and you will review and sign all of your paperwork and consent forms. In some cases, you may need to obtain prior medical clearance from your physician or specialist. You may also have to meet with the anesthesiologist beforehand for additional lab work, depending on your medical situation.
Your mommy makeover will be an outpatient procedure in an accredited surgery center with a board certified anesthesiologist in the safest conditions possible. The surgery will be performed under general anesthesia. Depending on the extent and length of your procedure, there are instances where it may be recommended that you stay overnight in the hospital or surgical center.
After you are asleep, Dr. Arslanian will start by making his incisions. Depending on your individual treatment plan, the procedure may start on your breast, abdomen or areas of liposuction. Dr. Arslanian will then perform your procedures, close the incisions and dress the treated areas in specialized bandaging. Then, it’s off to the recovery room to wake up and start your recovery.
You will typically get to go home the same day unless Dr. Arslanian has concerns about the length of the procedure and wants to keep you overnight. Depending on your personal treatment plan and your body’s unique healing process, your recovery time will vary. Recovery can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on the extent of surgery, and which procedures were performed.
Your results will typically take 3-6 months to achieve. But don’t worry – this includes the total time required for swelling or bruising to subside, and the incisions and scars to fade.
Motherhood is exhausting, but Dr. Arslanian has a full range of facial rejuvenation services that can make you look refreshed. Why not turn back the clock on your face? You could treat yourself to bright dewy skin with a plasma peel. Maybe you need a set of voluptuous lips to go with your perky new breasts. DrhotlantaⓇ is here for you. He offers an extensive selection of dermal fillers that can plump up your cheeks and lips for the ultimate juicy look. Check out Dr. Arslanian’s blog to learn more about what he can do for you and get inspired!
