If you are interested in neck & chin liposuction in Atlanta, the first step is to schedule a consultation with double board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brian Arslanian. During your consultation, Dr. Arslanian will discuss your medical history to determine if you are an ideal candidate for this surgery. You must be candid with your medical history since liposuction is not recommended for hypertensive and diabetic patients. After learning more about your aesthetic goals and expectations, Dr. Arslanian will examine your neck and chin area to discuss target areas and incision techniques while outlining the procedure, its risks, and benefits.

Once you both decide to proceed with this surgery, Dr. Arslanian will create your surgical plan. If you are satisfied with this plan, you will meet with our patient coordinator to schedule your surgery, price the plan, and share any pre-operative instructions.

What to Expect on the Day of Neck & Chin Liposuction Surgery

On your neck & chin liposuction day, Dr. Arslanian and his staff will welcome you and get you settled in the state-of-the-art surgical suite. They will review the surgical plan again to address any outlying questions. Finally, a board-certified anesthesiologist will administer anesthesia to help keep you pain-free during the procedure.

Dr. Arslanian will begin your procedure by making incisions under the chin area and under both ear lobes to allow for various angles to target the fat. Once he has access to the unwanted fat cells, he will insert a fine cannula to start liposuction of the target areas. After the fat suction is over and the skin has been pulled to optimum tightness, Dr. Arslanian will close each incision with one or two small sutures. He might also put a drain to get rid of any fluid buildup. Finally, he will dress the wounds, applying a compression garment to stay ahead of swelling.

This procedure, without complications, will take approximately one hour to complete.

Neck & Chin Liposuction Recovery

Post-surgery, Dr. Arslanian’s team will monitor you in our recovery room until the sedation wears off. Patients are encouraged to have a family member or friend provide them with a ride home.

Patients are encouraged to keep their compression garments on and to keep their necks elevated. In terms of body movement, they are encouraged to start walking right away to prevent the formation of blood clots. However, strenuous exercise is not allowed for at least a week to prevent pressure on the facial area.
