composite breast augmentation jonesboro atlanta GA

Breast augmentation can completely transform the way you look at and feel about yourself. Feeling feminine and sexy can give you the confidence to wear that dress, smile at yourself in the mirror, and hold your head up when you walk into a room.

Opting for breast augmentation is the first step on your journey to a larger bust. However, if you have relatively little body fat or breast tissue, breast implants or fat transfer to breast may not be able to provide your desired result unless performed in conjunction with one another.

Dr. Brian Arslanian, MD, FACS is a board-certified plastic surgeon serving the Atlanta area with convenient locations in Sandy Springs and Jonesboro. With his eye for detail, impeccable skill, and passion for aesthetics, Dr. Arslanian is an excellent choice when it comes to your unique breast augmentation needs. By utilizing your body’s naturally occurring fat and the help of breast implants, Dr. Arslanian can help you achieve the body of your dreams!

What is composite breast augmentation?

Composite breast augmentation is a combination procedure that helps you achieve natural-looking results. This is accomplished by performing a breast augmentation with breast implants to provide the desired volume to the breasts. As the lack of breast tissue may hinder an aesthetically pleasing result, liposuction is performed on areas of the body with excess fat deposits. This fat will be purified and injected into the breast pocket to help smooth the look and feel of the breasts.

Preparation

Prior to your surgery date, you will receive instructions specific to your unique case. Generally, patients are directed to stop using tobacco products and certain medications that may thin your blood. Dr. Arslanian will prescribe medicines that you should fill and pick up before your procedure so you will have them on hand when you need them. All paperwork, including consent forms, will need to be completed and on file. You may need to undergo a physical and additional lab work to obtain medical clearance from your primary care provider and our anesthesiologist.

If there are any additional directives, Dr. Arslanian will provide them well in advance of your composite breast augmentation procedure.

Procedure

composite breast augmentation jonesboro atlanta GA

Your composite breast augmentation will be performed as an outpatient procedure in an accredited surgery center with a board-certified anesthesiologist in the safest conditions possible. When you arrive on the day of your surgery, you will meet with Dr. Arslanian. He will mark your body using a felt tip marker to highlight the incision sites, areas he should pay special attention to, and anatomical landmarks, such as the midline of your chest.

Once you are in the operating room, your anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. After the anesthesia has taken effect, Dr. Arslanian will begin by making his sub-centimeter incisions in the areas of planned liposuction. He will then perform SAFE liposuction to harvest the appropriate amount of fat and precisely slim and contour your “problem areas.” The collected fat will be purified and prepared for injection into your breasts.

Dr. Arslanian will then make the necessary incisions to place your breast implants. From there, he will use pinpoint incisions to strategically place the fat into your breasts. His attention to detail will improve the shape and contour of your breasts and help camouflage the implants. After ensuring your breasts are symmetrical and your body is contoured according to your specifications, Dr. Arslanian will carefully close your incisions. You will be placed into compression garments and then taken into the recovery room until it is time for your trusted adult friend or family member to take you home.

Recovery

You will be able to go home the same day after your surgery to rest. During the first postoperative week, you will be instructed to begin exercises to improve your range of motion in your arms and shoulders. You will wear your compression garments as instructed for about 6 weeks, post-op. This will help minimize bruising, swelling, and discomfort. Your breasts will be swollen, firm, and sore after surgery. This is to be expected after surgery. Swelling and discomfort should subside in the following weeks and your breasts will “drop” and soften into a more natural position as the fat integrates to its new site. You will be given specific instructions on how to perform implant massages that you will begin soon after surgery.

Results

The final results of your composite breast augmentation will be long-lasting and natural-looking! Patients can expect about 60% fat retention as some of the fat will not survive after the fat transfer. Because of this, Dr. Arslanian will typically “over graft” the breasts so the final result is close to your ideal size. Once your breasts “drop and fluff” after 3 to 6 weeks, post-op, you can expect your breasts to not only be bigger, soft, and shapely, but your fat harvest areas to be slimmer and more contoured!

The body you desire begins with a conversation. Call Dr. Arslanian’s office today to schedule your composite breast augmentation consultation.
