All About HydraFacial Technology
HydraFacial is more than a facial. This 3-step system completely changes your skin’s health and appearance using patented VortexFusion® technology. Patients are obsessed! The HydraFacial’s one-of-a-kind wand has unique attachments that use a “swirling” movement to evenly and safely resurface and hydrate your skin.
The three-step procedure is non-ablative, meaning it will not damage your delicate skin, and it does not employ the use of lasers. Even patients with sensitive skin respond positively to this treatment. Extractions are effortless because the patented technology uses suction instead of uncomfortable pore manipulation. Salicylic and glycolic acids gently and effectively open pores and remove debris so that powerful suction can clear away impurities. As a result, your skin will be detoxified, rejuvenated, and hydrated by Hydrafacial’s unique, proprietary serums, which are then delivered deep within your pores. The overall results are brighter, firmer, and plumper skin.
Benefits of a HydraFacial Treatment
Published clinical studies have proven that hydradermabrasion increases elastotic dermal tissue, which means skin looks plump and bounces back. Fibroblasts, the cells producing collagen, become denser. After six treatments, patients saw a decrease in fine lines, pore size, inflammation, and hyperpigmentation. (1)
As we age, we naturally experience tissue degeneration, known as intrinsic aging. Three things cause this type of skin degeneration:
- Loss of collagen.
- Loss of elastin.
- Loss of hydration.
Extrinsic aging, also known as environmental or photoaging, happens when we expose our skin to ultraviolet (UV) light. In this instance, an accumulation of elastotic material in the upper and middle dermis layers causes a loss of elasticity in connective tissue. (2) You already apply sunscreen daily; why not add the HydraFacial to your routine to stave off the signs of aging?
Candidates for a HydraFacial
Anyone with skin is a candidate for a HydraFacial! This system can benefit all skin types, tones, and pigmentation levels safely and effectively. Additionally, the 4-in-1 technology can address and treat many common skin problems, including:

Preparation for a HydraFacial
It is always important to stay hydrated and eat a diet rich in antioxidants. Your skin will thank you! To keep your face looking beautiful after your HydraFacial, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Discontinue Accutane treatments six months before your treatment.
- Avoid Botox injections two weeks before your treatment. (Botox is safe to use immediately after your treatment.)
- Avoid chemical peels two weeks leading up to your treatment.
- Limit sun exposure and avoid sunburn.
- Stop using Retin-A and other prescribed medications 48 hours before your treatment.
- Discontinue over-the-counter acne topicals 48 hours prior.
- Avoid exfoliating skin treatments.
- Don’t wax or use hair removal cream on the area of treatment.
The HydraFacial Procedure
There are three easy steps to complete the HydraFacial process:
Step One: Cleanse and Peel
A lactic acid-based serum is applied to the skin to soften surface oils and impurities and easily remove them with vortex suction. Then, a glycol preparation goes deep into the pores. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) used to break apart dead skin cells on the surface. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid that penetrates deep into pores to break apart excretions and trapped debris.
Step Two: Extract and Hydrate
Instead of microdermabrasion, which uses abrasive material to “buff” the skin, hydradermabrasion gently suctions and whisks away surface impurities and dead skin. Your aesthetician can adjust the suction level for your comfort. Additionally, you can apply your choice of booster serums at this point to address your specific skin concerns.
Step Three: Fuse and Protect
Ready, set, glow! This step saturates the skin with antioxidants and peptides.
What is the Recovery Time of a HydraFacial?
The best part of HydraFacial is there is zero recovery time. You can get back to your life immediately after your treatment. You’ll be given post-treatment instructions like avoiding UV light exposure and avoiding the use of abrasive products on your skin.
After Your Treatment
Your skin will not react to HydraFacial as it might to microdermabrasion or chemical peels. There are no harsh abrasives. You can even receive a treatment during lunch because there is no swelling or irritation – just beautiful refreshed skin. Feel free to apply makeup directly after the treatment. If pink or redness appears, we may use an LED light to help. We recommend sunscreen applied regularly to add a layer of protection to your newly vibrant skin.
What are the Results of a HydraFacial?
After receiving your HydraFacial, you will have smooth, hydrated skin for 5 to 7 days or even longer! Many clients report baby-soft skin after their first treatment. Additionally, sun spots and hyperpigmentation will be less visible and will continue to diminish with further treatments. Your skin tone will look even and restored, reducing the size of your pores. And with no irritation or inflammation, the results are instant. Patients are thrilled with the overall healthy glow. One treatment a month is recommended to maintain your gorgeous skin.
Corresponding & Complementary Procedures
Many patients choose to combine their HydraFacial with other treatments like Botox. This option is completely safe and will take your look to the next level.
